Dancing in the Moonlight by Brenda

Hello Peeps, I hope all is well in your part of the world.

I have been playing, oops working with some of the Byzantine Collection goodies and having great fun, the designs are quite diverse from a galloping horse to elegant ballroom dancing.

This one is of course the ballroom dancing couple called Moonlight Dance, they are just so lovely swaying to the music. The image had been cut on plain cardstock and then sprayed with adhesive and covered in ultra fine copper glitter.

The base card is cut from cream 320gsm linen cardstock using TL Centre Stepper set and the matting and layering from plain brown card and some Trimcarft DP.

I cut the word dance from TL Dance Like Nobody is Watching three times and covered that in the same copper glitter and spaced across the bottom of the stepper and placed the dancing couple above.

Using cream glitter card I cut twelve flowers from TL Emma Trio set, decoupaged them and placed down the side panels along with some cut and embossed leaves using TL Sophie Trio and finally added some little gems to the flower centres.

Thanks so much for popping in today.

Purple Peony by Brenda

Hello to you all, today I have a card using the new TL Delicate Peony, it's one of the Chrisma range with artwork in several colours and the matching die for perfect cutting and decoupaging of the pretty blooms.

I started by covering a 7x7 white lined card with some design paper and then using the plain oval die from TL Kedleston Scalloped Oval set cut an oval centrally in the card. Next I fixed strong red line tape around about one half of the aperture (with the card face side up) and placed strips of yarn from a central point at the bottom to the top spacing them into a fan shape. To keep the yarn firm I put more red line tape over the top.

Using the same oval die and the outer dies from the set I cut a frame from lilac pearl card and fixed above the aperture which hides all the working with the yearn.

The TL Delicate Peony has been cut out three times, one for the base layer and then two of the blooms cut down slightly and layered up. I also added a couple more leaves left when cutting the flower layers. I used Pinflair glue to achieve a nice raised finish to the flower.

Using TL All Over Flourish Embossing folder I embossed a piece of acetate slightly smaller than the size of the card base and placed in on the inside of the card behind the aperture. Unfortunately it doesn't show up too well on my photo but it does give a nice effect behind the yarn.

Finally I placed the decoupaged flower at the bottom of the aperture along with some more yarn, some little heart stripes using one of the dies in TL Get Started set and a TL Butterfly and EA pearls.

Many thanks for popping in today.

Cross Country event

My share today is using the new TL Horse and Rider from the Byzantine collection, this die was an immediate hit with me as I have had horses all my life and currently have two boys called Ben and Heskey.

So I decided to create a card based on a cross country event and made a scene with Pan Pastles and a mask for the sun to act as a backdrop to my horse and rider. After cutting the die from white cardstock I coloured it with Chameleon pens and placed it on the background using pinflair to give a little added height.

The sentiment is TL Happy Birthday cut from blue cardstock and the horseshoes on the bunting were created on on cricut and fixed to some bakers twine and hung across the corner of the card and little bows made on the EA Bow Maker.

I have probably said it before, but creating backgrounds with inks and pan pastels is so very quick and easy, people often tell me they find this type of of crafting a little scary but really it's not and I am always more than happy to help if you want to mail me.

With Love Peony by Brenda

Hello to you all, thanks for popping by the Tattered Lace blog today.

It's another card using the new TL Delicate Peony, as with all the Charisma range there is a CD Rom with a variety of flower colours and backing papers and all the hard work taken out of with the matching die making decoupaging so quick and easy.

After cutting and folding the base card from 350gsm Kraft card I decorated with some Autumnal papers and added two border down the leading edges using TL Anne Border. I cut the TL Delicate Peony three times, snipped a few petals out of two, decoupaged and placed on one of the central panels.

The sentiment cut from the same green cardstock as the borders is TL With Love.

Moonlight dance by Brenda

Today I am sharing another card made with  the new TL Moonlight Dance die.

The arch window background for the dancing couple was created with a mask, Pan Pastels and a sponge, it's such a quick and easy way to make backgrounds.

The dancing couple are cut from white cardstock, sprayed with glue and dusted with TL ultra fine crystal glitter and fixed over the window with Pinflair glue which allows you to raise the image and add dimension.

I used an assortment of flowers including some little EA blossoms and heart tendrils using one of the dies in TL Get Started, the sentiment is from the same set.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

Ballerina by Brenda

Good morning, I hope all is well in your part of the crafting world.

I have been working with some more of the new Tattered Lace dies and today's card has a mixture of dies and Tattered Lace products.

My starting point was to use TL Center Stepper die set to cut the base and layers for my card. This die still has to be my favorite shape, it's so versatile and the middle section large enough to take many of the TL dies.

I coloured the image with Chameleon pens and then sprayed with adhesive and added TL ultra fine glitter before mounting onto a may embossed with TL All Over Flourish embossing folder and lightly inked the edges with DI.

Using EA grosgrain ribbon I created a banner shape across the top of the card, cut out just the word Dance from TL Dance Like Nobody is Watching four times and fixed onto the ribbon.

Finally I embellished with EA flowers.

As always, many thanks for visiting the TL blog.

Peony wreath by Brenda

When I first saw the pretty TL Delicate Peony and Peony Corners, I immediately wanted to make a pretty floral wreath, no secret that I have a bit of a fetish for them.

My starting point was to print out a sheet of the large Peony and two of the Peony Corner using 120gsm pearl paper and then cut out each using the coordinating dies which cut out beautifully with no nasty white edges. I snipped a section of the petals from two of the last flowers and six of the corners and then decoupaged all to give me one large flower bloom and six corners.

Using TL Essential Ovals I cut an aperture in an 8x8 white card and using an die slightly larger than the oval and another slightly smaller I cut a frame from lilac pearl card to sit inside the card aperture. I then embossed a piece of acetate slightly smaller than the size of the card, embossed with with TL All Over Flourish embossing folder and fixed inside the card behind the aperture. It looks really effective if you do this but afraid it doesn't show up on my photo.

I fixed some EA lace across the bottom of the card along with some ric rack and a bow made on the EA Bow Maker. Once they were all in place I spaced the corner flowers around the aperture and fixed the large Peony onto the acetate inlay.

As always, my thanks for visiting the Tattered Lace blog today.
